Texas Storms Bring Out True Heroes...And Advocates

Written by Kevin Hall | Jun 26, 2023 3:10:59 PM

Over the past week, all parts of Texas have seen many storms. Tornados, high wind, hail, and lightning have become the norm this early Summer whether you are near Amarillo, Austin or Tyler. There has been loss of life, treasure, power, etc. In East Texas specifically, many of our friends and family have not had power service for over a week…in this high Texas heat! That is a brutal reality of storms.

During such disasters, heroes like first responders are ready to assist. They bind up our wounds, protect us from further danger, and bring us to safety. Emergency, fire, and police are always at the forefront of service in their communities, and we can never thank them enough. When you see one of these selfless folks, thank them. And then, thank them again.

Not All Heroes Wear Capes

Now, near the top on my list of heroes are Electrical/Power Company linemen. These forgotten men and women are out before the storms hit and are ready to step up and fix a downed line, remove debris from power lines, fix a transformer, and get power up where it is lost. They often climb to ridiculous heights during the storm and work in some of the most dangerous conditions post storms. According to national lineman surveys and utility company data, 42 for every 100,000 lineman are killed on the job each year. Also, 2,400 for every 100,000 lineman suffer serious non-fatal injuries each year. This makes the lineman’s job one of the most dangerous, only behind loggers and manual laborers in agriculture.

These first responders make us whole…they get us up and running as soon as possible.

Different Kinds of Heroes For Insurance

While those in the above professions will exercise heroic means in serving you, we independent insurance agents want to help make you whole. We want to assist you in recapturing what could be lost during the storms of life. Whether that means we help get your car replaced after major hail damage, have the roof over your head repaired or replaced when 100 mph winds hit, or have new flooring installed after a busted pipe floods your home; we want to provide you with the peace of mind that comes with the coverage you need.

In regards to your health, independent insurance agents want to find health coverage that will provide you and your family the care they need during a major illness, surgery, or injury while also doing it in a way that works for your household income. Our desire is to help protect your financial assets from unintended exposure to medical costs when life’s trials come threatening your health. More importantly, independent insurance agents provide you and your family the security that they deserve should there be an untimely death through life insurance. The worst thing that we can say to you or your loved one, is to say that there is no coverage for your problem. And even though it's painful, it is an honor to present a death benefit to a family or spouse when they had a tragic loss of a beloved family member.

We’re not heroes. What we are is what I would like to be considered as: “advocates.” We want to advocate for you to give you peace of mind so that when problems come. We will be there. We are there to guide, provide protection for assets, and try to supply you peace of mind that comes from the promise of certainty when insurance does its work.

Insurance for Texans is staffed by independent agents who listen well and then work as advocates on your behalf. We ask questions so that we can listen and then do our best to find the coverage that you need and provide you the great value that you deserve. When the storms of life come, you may need heroes but you will also need advocates. Click the button below, and start a conversation with us.
